My personalised menus have been very popular this year and make a lovely keepsake for your guests! They incorporate your guests name and individual menu with a venue illustration and can be completed with ribbon or a wax seal!

Maggie & Mack, 07.06.25

A few shots from Maggie and Mack's wedding in June at the Schloss Roxburghe in Kelso. Their wedding invites incorporated their tartan ribbon and a venue illustration.  They travelled from the U.S.A to get married in Scotland and these absolutely beautiful photographs were taken by Iris Marie Photography.

Jane & Ross, 05.07.25

A few photographs from Jane & Ross's special day at Gosford House in July.

Their invitations incorporated my sketch of Gosford House with sage ribbon and envelopes and I carried the same theme onto their on the day stationery with their welcome board and menus.

Caroline & William, 07.06.25

A few beautiful shots from Caroline and William's special day in June photographed by the talented Sarah Fulton.

They travelled from Boston to get married in Scotland and the ceremony took place in the St. Mary's Catholic Cathedral with the reception to follow in the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh.

Their on the day stationery featured venue illustrations hand drawn in pencil with Black Watch Tartan and the whisky tasting board was a hit with the guests!

Wedding season is in full swing and I've been creating lots of on the day stationery.

Included here are a welcome board, table plan and personalised menus incorporating a watercolour painting if the venue - Dundas Castle and sage green colour scheme.

Tips for ordering stationery

It’s been a busy few weeks so I thought I would share a few tips for ordering your wedding stationery.

• You need one invitation per household, not per guest

• Order a sample, it’s much easier to see the quality of materials in real life than on a screen (see below)

• Check the proof several times then ask a friend or relative to double check too

• Post your invites second class rather than first as it’s a saving of £0.80 per invite (and they don’t take much longer!)

• Put on a date for people to reply by (ideally a month after they went out)

• Create a wedding email address for replies and wedmin

• Don’t leave it to the last minute!

This invitation can also include a reply or information card to create a lovely wee stationery bundle tied together with ribbon or a belly band.

This elegant design incorporates a watercolour painting of @uofglasgow with autumnal information card, twine, claret ribbon and the fallen leaves wax seal 🍁

Gate fold invitations

Morning, I’m going to be sharing some invitation styles over the next few days.

First up is the • Gatefold •

This is one of my most popular styles as it is really versatile and can include extra information such as menu choices or accommodation options on the side panels. It can be completed with ribbon, a belly band or wax seal.

This design incorporates a venue illustration of the beautiful @broxmouthcourtyard with hand painted eucalyptus and foliage wax seal.

Painting Carberry Tower

Above is a recent commission I completed featuring Carberry Tower. I start with a pencil sketch then gradually build up the layers of watercolour.

Sarah & Cameron

It's been a very busy wedding season and I've got lots to share with you starting with Sarah and Cameron's lavender and malt whisky themed on the day stationery from their special day at Dundas Castle.

Gosford House wedding stationery

I created this bespoke wedding stationery for Edward and Joanna who got married last weekend. They wanted to incorporate a pencil sketch of their venue, the stunning Gosford House.

The venue illustration featured on front of their invites and order of service booklets, with navy double satin ribbon bows for a classic look.

Inside the invitation and on the place card setting featured a small eucalyptus watercolour illustration which completed the stationery.

So nice to see weddings happening again x

Glencorse Old Kirk sketch

 

Above is a recent pencil sketch of Glencorse Old Kirk for bespoke wedding stationery. It is a beautiful old church just outside Edinburgh and I loved capturing all the details on the stonework. I started with a line drawing and then gradually built up the layers of shading to complete the drawing.

Vellum menus

 

It's been so nice to be designing on the day stationery again  (it really feels like weddings are back!) and how I LOVE these vellum menus with vintage china. They look so pretty!

Design Process

I'm getting lots of questions just now about how bespoke stationery works so I thought it might be helpful to do a blog post!

One of our most popular designs is the venue illustration. I work from a photograph so the first stage is to pick the image you prefer for the drawing. 

The sketch is drawn by hand and once completed I will then let you see it to make sure you are happy with it before making up the samples. The above sketch is Insh Church in Kincraig.

Once you have picked your ribbon colour, typeface, card and invitation style I will make up samples for you to approve. This client picked an ivory folded card with pocket, navy double satin ribbon and the Corsiva typeface.

I will then post the sample to you and any tweaks can be made at this stage. Once approved the invites are made by hand and the delivery time is 3-4 weeks.

Your wedding invites are a one-off design, unique to you!

Pencil sketch of church

 

I completed this pencil sketch for a couple to use on their order of service featuring the church they are getting married in. You can see my process here, I draw a line drawing first and then build up layers of shading and detail.
